Blue Origin vs Lockheed Martin career?

Hey everyone, I am having some trouble deciding the best path forward career wise and would like some advice and input.

I am currently with Blue Origin as a level 2 engineer. Been here almost two years. Love my team and company mission, but I have slowly seen an increase in toxic company culture and push to be more like SpaceX to launch New Glenn at a faster rate. Also a huge disconnect between management and engineering.

I recently was offered a senior level position with Lockheed Martin at Kennedy Space Center. It would be an incredible opportunity to work on Orion and comes with about 20% pay increase.

Would this be a smart switch/transition? Blue just feels like a lot less of a stable/secure job but I love my coworkers. Not sure what my path to promotion looks like due to a high turnover in managers since I started at Blue. Wife and I are also looking to start a family soon, and the stability of Lockheed is certainly appealing. And working on Orion would be incredible and is very exciting. Any advice and input is welcome.

Average time between offer acceptance and start date?

Hey everyone, just curious how long it takes to receive your start date? I do not need a security clearance. I took my drug test last Friday and have followed up with the recruiter with no response. What is the average wait time?

Salary increase between position levels?

I know this varies per person per location, but is there an average percentage salary increases between engineering levels? Like level 2 to level 3, or level 3 to level 4?

Blue to Lockheed?

Hey everyone, I posted this a couple days ago and seems to have been removed so apologies for the repost.

As the title states, I received an offer for a Senior Assembly Integration and Test engineer at Lockheed Martin at the KSC facility. Sounds like a super exciting opportunity. Would be a promotion and a decent pay raise. However, I really do like my team at Blue, but I am a level II and have been for quite some time. I am continually hitting above my level but am yet to be promoted and frankly no idea when that could occur. Seems like a crapshoot if you get promoted honestly from what I’ve seen. So would this be a smart career move to go from Blue to Lockheed? Thanks in advance

Blue Level II Engineer to Senior Engineer at Lockheed Martin KSC?

Hey guys, going to be vague but I recently received a Senior Assembly/Integration Test engineer offer from LM at KSC. Seems like a very fun opportunity. I do really like my team which makes this hard. At Blue I have been at level two for quite some time and hitting above my level for quite some time now. Would this be a smart career move?

Post interview status question?

Hey guys, I had an interview on Monday with hiring manager and team and it went great. At the end of the interview I asked the team about next steps and they said the typical “we have a couple interviews left but you’ll definitely be hearing from us before the beginning of August”. Also important to note that this hiring manager reached out to me encouraging me to apply for the position. I wasn’t selected for a role I interviewed for with this hiring manager a few months ago but they thought I would be a good candidate for this role.

I just logged into Brassring and looks like the job listing is down, as it says “The job posting you are looking for has expired or the position has already been filled. If you are interested in one of our other opportunities, please visit our career site.” My candidate status for the role still says “Interview”. Does this mean the role was already offered to another individual and closed? Or is this part of the normal process after all interviews are conducted?

Interim clearance timeline?

I received an offer and accepted, but an interim clearance is required before I can start. I submitted my general info to Lockheed Martin Security Operations center on 6/9. I did not fill out an SF-86. The recruiter told me it could take a few weeks. I know clearances take quite some time to process, but what about an interim clearance? Strange that I did not need to fill out an SF-86

LM Aero vs LM Space

Hey everyone, I’m fortunate enough to be in a situation where I can chose between two offers, one for LM Aero (Marietta) and one for LM Space (Kennedy Space Center). What are people’s thoughts between locations and branches of the company? Does one division have better job security than the other?

Unique situation for two offers with Lockheed Martin

Hey everyone,
I have a question that I’m hoping someone could shed some light on for me. A few months back, I interviewed for a position with Lockheed Martin Space. Interview went great, however another candidate was chosen for that role. A few weeks later, I interviewed with for a role with LM Aeronautics and accepted the offer. I am still waiting to receive a start date for that role as I am waiting on security clearance.

Fast forward to yesterday. The hiring manager for the first role I interviewed for with LM Space, reached out to me and asked if I was still interested because they have another identical role opening up and believe I would be a great fit. I was super excited, because I would prefer this position over the aeronautics position I had accepted.

So my question is, am I still eligible for the LM Space position even though there is onboarding underway for the aeronautics position? The aeronautics position would require me to relocate whereas the space position is local. How would this work out? Do I need to withdraw from the aeronautics accepted role before I can be considered for the space role?

Should I be concerned that I’ve been in the adjudication phase for 5 months?

Basically as the title states, I have been in adjudication since the end of January. Is there a reason it could be this long? The investigation was initiated mid-September of last year. I did disclose a one-time DUI from several years back that was removed from my record, but other than that incident my record has been clean. I’m starting to get anxious with how long it has been. This is for a secret level security clearance.

Is there anyway forward where Blue doesn’t reduce headcount in the short term?

With 7E engineering and production this far along, and with 9E around the corner and no launches and resulting refurb campaigns, is there honestly a path forward where Blue doesn’t reduce ME, RE and OPs headcount as a result of this?

Blue Origin to Skunk Works?

Recently offered an opportunity with Lockheed Martin Skunk Works. Without saying much, it is a promotion a level up for me and would be an exciting project. What are people’s thoughts that may have come from Lockheed Martin and/or Skunk Works? Some of Blues decisions internally have me questioning future directions and job stability so I would love some feedback. Thanks!

How is the Marietta, GA location?

I recently was offered a really great position at the Marietta, GA location and wanted to hear what other people think of the location both for work and in general? I would be relocating to the area but would love to hear feedback.
