I’ve been thinking about local keywords lately and how much they actually help small businesses get found.

For example, instead of going after broad terms like “digital marketing services” or “plumber”, it seems more practical to target searches with a location attached, like “digital marketing agency in Manchester” or “emergency plumber in Leeds”.

It makes sense in theory because people searching that way are usually looking for something nearby and ready to compare options.

For anyone working on a small business, have local keywords actually helped bring in enquiries?

Or have you found that things like reviews, referrals, social media, or ads do more of the heavy lifting?
