Hi all FJ lovers!
I’ve been a proud FJ owner for 2 years (took me 2 years to find the right one here in the EU). I live in the mountains and need a proper off-roader for both work and my hobbies.
The situation: I have a 3-year-old and a 1-year-old. I know, the FJ isn’t exactly a "family car." I bought a RAV4 for the wife/family duties, which is great, but honestly, it feels a bit small for everything we need.
The FJ is my daily driver and workhorse. There are only two things I really struggle with:

  1. The Range: This beast drinks a lot and the tank feels tiny.
  2. The Doors: My wife absolutely hates the suicide doors when dealing with the kids. I’ve been looking at the new LC250 (Prado), the Ineos Grenadier, or even a solid LC200. But every time I check the prices, I end up back at: "The FJ is amazing value for the money, despite the flaws." Does anyone have real-world experience comparing the FJ side-by-side with an LC250, LC200, or Grenadier as a daily driver? Is the upgrade worth the massive price jump, or should I just stick with my FJ? Thanks!

EDIT 1: Thanks all what you share. Very happy see how we love ours FJs and real examples "this can be car for life".
