Just a tease

Dumbass me just found out tonight that the R in turd is made to look like a racetrack.

Sorry to make your 🥚 blue, but I will reveal soon with my official join post here after a few more things this week.

Anyone got any must-do QOL mods they'd like to suggest?

Bug deflector FTW

Hello! Just started a road trip from Ottawa to Vancouver... Guess we're I'm at now? 😁

I just installed a bug/hood deflector, it's definitely helping to keep the bugs out of the windshield by about 70% (not scientifically tested).

Also I've installed windows visors from Aliexpress, I feel like it cuts the wind noise.

Cheers!

Really happy with this OME suspension setup

MT64 front and back lifted 2 inches measured at the wheel well, light springs up front and medium springs on the rear. Sway bar delete. DR KDSS BOTCK correction kit.

Really impressed with the articulation for an IFS. I wish I had taken the rear picture at a better angle to show how level it was.

Feels great on the road and so smooth on gravel at 38 psi. It's able to eat all bumps and provide a smooth ride driving on the beach at 35 mph without airing down.

Last touch for off road accessories is rock rails and I will be done.

How do we think I did?!

First project in the FJ: build a sleeping platform with storage: this is a two piece removable platform!

What did I do to my steering?

So last weekend we did some pretty gnarly trails and on one of the hill climbs my front right wheel hit a root. Hi heard a clunk. Checked it out, couldn’t see anything, carried on and noticed my steering wheel 45 degrees to the left in order to drive straight. Other than that, all good.

On the drive home, cruising on the highway, it was very clear something had shifted. Steering wheel 45 degrees to the left for the car to drive straight. There wasn’t any pulling, shaking, or play in the steering. If I let the steering wheel go, the FJ would drive perfectly straight ahead. At this point there was no light on the dash yet.

On Monday I took the FJ for alignment, they couldn’t see anything bent or out. Adjustment cams still seemed flat and in place. I had a good look myself. So they continued with alignment as per usual. As soon as a drove out the light came on. Hooked up Techstream when I got home and the fault was there, steering angle off center. I cleared memory and did zero point calibration. All is good now.

But what did I knock out? Did I skip a tooth on the steering rack? Is that even possible? I have seen what the couplings and splines look like on the steering shaft because I have replaced them. It’s impossible for anything to slip that much there.

Considering Sell My FJ - What is it worth?

Thinking of selling my 2010 FJ, it's white TRD Sport, no 4WD but does have rear diff and has 200k miles. No major issues, ever besides regular maintenance. What would it be worth? It's in good condition, paint is okay, but runs great! Hate to part but need cash for home purchase and I have a 24 4runner that is better for family. I'm in SoCal community.

Quiet Muffler/ Exhaust

My muffler is starting to become one with the rust and time for it to go. I use to have the walker as quiet flor but it rusted so fast.

Any other silent muffler suggestions?

The local exhaust shop recommended a 3 chambered muffler?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Need new rotors and pads.

In a previous post about my FJ and steering wheel shaking when I brake it was determined that I need new pads and rotors. Can anyone recommend good sets worth a good price? I looked at OEM but for ALL new pads and rotors I’m looking at around 500-600$. Does anyone have any good recommendations? I don’t want to cheap out on brakes but I’m not sure I can afford that much right now. Thanks yall.

Part number? Got rear ended by a delivery guy, im ok with the damage, his bike was likely totalled, his fault, i was in a hurry and after seeing he was ok and his damage was way worst than mine, we agreed on let it each on their own… how difficult is to replace it my self?

AZ bureau scene report

Mandatory “just got it” post, another one for the ‘07 voodoo blue tribe. So now begins the “discovery phase” of all the custom farkles the previous owner added. But it’s a decent specimen; one owner, and the pre-purchase inspection @ trusted mechanic revealed no significant issues. At least now I can stop lurking here and contribute now & then..
