Finally After 9 Years of Playing Elite On and Off, I Was Able to Fully Engineer Every Ship in the Game and Find a Role for Each One of Them
I think every ship in the game deserves love (Yes even the ASP Scout!). So I embarked on this long journey to find a specific role for each ship and fully engineer every engineerable module on them (except AFMUs Fuel Scoops etc) and add experimental effects if applicable so that I can rotate between dozens of ships depending on the occasion and not use the same few meta ships with different loadouts.
Sure most of my ships aren't the most efficient at their jobs but after your credits balance reaches 11 digits (the rest is in the carrier balance) and you've unlocked pretty much everything to unlock, you stop thinking about things like DPS, efficiency or credits per hour.
Throughout my journey, my favorite ships were:
Alliance Chieftain: It's got everything you could want from a combat ship! Also a perfect platform for Cytoscramblers.
Type-7: It tends to overheat quickly but it just adds to the challenge. Flying the Type 7 makes even material farming fun to me.
Diamondback Scout: I like it very much and I use it unironically! I don't even know why.
Imperial Courier: You can easily get 850+ speed in combat builds by sacrificing weight. (Lightweight weapons- E rated Shield Boosters etc). It's surprisingly sturdy even with E rated Shield Boosters.
Federal Dropship: I use it as a literal dropship in ground missions. It's filled with armor and SRV Bays. Also works great in On foot Combat zones.
Krait Mk II: The pinnacle of AX Combat. Some of the best memories I've made in the game were made in my trusty Krait.
Adder: My first ship purchase in Elite after getting tired of the Sidewinder. I still occasionally use it to get to point A from point B.
(There are a few modules missing experimental modules so technically my journey isn't completely finished!)
