I went to the dentist for a cleaning at the end of March. The following week, I had a routine check-up, during which two fissure sealants on my upper molars were replaced.

Today I noticed that I’ve been aware of one of my lower back molars all day, and then I saw in the mirror that there’s a black spot on it that I can’t identify. I also can't brush it away. The tooth also feels soft.

I have a dentist appointment on Monday to get impressions taken for a night guard, so I’ll mention it then anyway, but it’s bothering me right now. I haven't had a hole since I was 12.

What could this black spot be?

Edit: With a lot of water pressure I got rid of the black thing but the hole remains.
Was that a foreign object that I ground into my tooth?
