Is there hope for my teeth?

I was already born with a set of teeth smaller than average, but there were no problems until braces became fashionable. Good news for my crowded teeth and underbite. I was 14 back then I think. I put on metal braces for 2 years or more... And retainer as well. In my early twenties, I experimented with baking soda, strawberries and lemon in hopes of taking a shortcut to whiter teeth. I did it once. For a few minutes. Brushed and swished it in my mouth and my enamel was never the same after. Anyway, from there on I never stopped fixing the 4 front teeth with bonding. Sometimes if fell or got chipped over the last 9 years maybe. When I got them off to let my gums rest and to see if I can just live normally with real human teeth again, with no more dental interventipn, they didnt look so bad with some polishing and gum care. For a while atleast, it seemed the enamel has healed even slightly throught the years. But last year when a dentist miscomunicated to me that emax veneers will NOT require shaving, I got ecxited and wanted the bigger whiter teeth. To my dismay, "I am just preparing your teeth." actually ment shaving them. Long story short, the result was awful, the color was awful, the bacteria got trapped around the corners. No matter how much I flossed or brushed or gargled the infamous veneer stink lingered (only I could smell it but still). My jaws hurt. I stress-chewed sometimes and 3 out of eight veneers fell or cracked. Now I am 35, I removed the latest set of veneers and threw them in the trash. I don't want anything other than to save what is left of my teeth. Because even if they offer me actual pearls for teeth, they wouldn't compare at all to the real thing. My teeth, I just realized, are stronger than what all the dentists have told me. No sensitivity, bleeding or cavities. What can I do to improve them without dentures or bonding? Will gum contouring help? Is there a technology I don't know about that helps with reminerlization? How different will they look with short-term braces? Can a high quality diet of milk, eggs, bone broth for example help my teeth heal? I need an advice from dentists who are open to non-mainstream treatments and those who believe in the resilience of the human body, including teeth.

P.S: I live in the Middle East which is known for very good healthcare in general, but still not free of the disease of profit first, patient second.

Early decay or just staining?

Hello everyone!
I am kinda spiraling rn, I just noticed this spot while I was brushing my teeth. Is it decay or just staining? Had my last two cleanings in December and in April, been in braces since February. I brush and floss religiously three times a day, also use waterpik and interdental brushes at night with Mi Paste Plus that I leave overnight, and use xylimelts while sleeping. Unfortunately I’m cavity prone and I tend to sleep with my mouth open (and it’s been worse since we added elastics).
Had my last braces check up on the 26th of June and the ortho didn’t say anything about it or any other spot on my teeth. Should I ask for a checkup with my actual dentist? The last one I had was when I had a filling before getting braces (start of February).
I don’t smoke, I don’t snack outside of meals. Drink alcoholic beverages occasionally but stopped drinking anything else but water and matcha (which I drink daily, no sugar just erythritol added). I always swish with water and use xylitol mints after.
Thank you in advance!

Would you get a crown for a suspected cracked tooth after a root canal?

Has anyone had a crown after a root canal because of a suspected crack?

I had a root canal on one of my teeth some time ago. Recently, I’ve developed a sharp pain when biting down.

I was referred to a dental hospital, where the specialists examined the tooth and said they suspect it may have a crack.

They’ve recommended a crown to try to protect the tooth.
I’m trying to decide whether to go ahead with the crown or seek another opinion first.

I understand that no one can diagnose my tooth over Reddit, but I’d be interested to know:

Did a crown solve your pain if your tooth was suspected to be cracked?
Did anyone get a second opinion, and was it worthwhile?
If your tooth was cracked after a root canal, what was the eventual outcome?

I’d really appreciate hearing about your experiences while I decide what to do. Thanks!

Stains on front teeth

These discolorations seem to have shown up gradually sometime in the past year. I only started noticing them about a month ago. I floss daily and brush with prescription fluoride toothpaste twice a day. I don't drink coffee or soda, only water and tea, and occasionally wine or whiskey. Any idea what is causing them, and how to get rid of them?

I tried a couple of whitening strips this week but haven't noticed a difference, and I don't want to push it too far if it's just going to end up whitening the tooth but not the discolored part.

35M, no notable medical conditions. Allegra taken daily.

Is composite bonding enough to aesthetically improve my teeth?

The 1st photo shows my current teeth - I’ve had composite bonding & shaving in Bali to fix my chipped teeth

The second photo is how they looked before. I’m very happy with the results. My confidence is through the roof. However, I’d like to get them even nicer now

Should I composite bond the bottom row to give the illusion of a straight line?

I’ve also been told throughout my life I have quite yellow teeth… even when I posted my transformation TikTok, I went viral, and had many nasty hate comments on how yellow they are… the dentist said they were very white, and I had them whitened with hydrogen peroxide but, it’s never as pearly white as my friends

I am aware my teeth are “fine” and some people have it worse, but I’m looking to improve my self confidence. I’m grateful either way

Thank you

Can you make composite veneers less white?

Hi, I just got 10 composite veneers on my top teeth and they are a bit too white for me, they don’t match my bottom teeth at all. I’ve been freaking out since I had them as they just don’t look like me and I’m really self conscious. I thought we would be able to do something in the bottom teeth to match them up but he said as they are crowded I won’t be able to. Can you make composite less white after putting it on? I also think the size is a little large for me? But I am going back and forth on them as I know people can freak out and need a while to get used to them. Thank you

Cavity

Hello, I need some advice, please. I have cavities, and they just started hurting a little today. Do you think it's okay if I wait until next week to see a dentist? Will the pain get worse? I'm very busy right now and can't visit a dentist this week.

Dental issues

I have very bad teeth and it is because I spent years neglecting my oral health and I haven’t been to the dentist in nearly 7 years. I am scared to see the dentist because I’m afraid of what they may say to me. I will likely be wearing full dentures. I will be 32 and I am curious if anyone else is facing this problem? I just want to feel like I’m not alone… That someone else has maybe even overcame a major problem like this. I feel like a total failure for letting my teeth get so bad, I haven’t been able to truly smile in years because I’m ashamed of my teeth, and I used to be a person who very much loved to smile and laugh.

Is this dental fraud?

TLDR: Went in for emergency visit after chipping off 1/3 of my molar. Was made to believe I was paying out-of-pocket fees for the crown but after receving my EoB, realized I was pressured into opening a credit line under false pretenses and duress. The crown was covered and all the fees came from unnecessary treatments that I did not know I was being charged for. Please share advice for filing complaints with the dental board, consumer protection agencies, and disputing charges with credit lendirs and getting successfully reimbursed.

I went in for an emergency dental appointment after chipping a large part of my molar. This was my first time visiting this office. As expected, they started off with multiple xrays but also took photos which I had never experienced. Then they took me into the examination room and asked me to spit in a cup so they could test for bacteria, so I did. Then the dentist came in to examine my teeth. After the exam, she informed me that my saliva test results indicated I have moderate periodontitis so I needed a deep cleaning and laser treatment. Also, there was a 70% chance I would need a root canal on my chipped molar, however she could not be sure until she worked on the tooth, and that I needed a medication to regenerate my enamel because a cavity would soon form without it. There was no discussion of what the different options were and what was absolutely needed vs what was recommended. Then the dentist walks out and sends in a billing agent who hands me three pages of line items with different prices and treatements. She said my crown would cost over $900 and if I needed a root canal that would be another $800. I was shocked at how expensive getting a crown was as I have good insurance and shared that I live pay check to pay check and have no savings. She offered a credit line with up to 12 months %0 interest if I have good credit. I obviously needed the crown and I was in pain so I agreed to get the crown and she had me sign a digital document on a screen for the service. The dentist walked in with the person who did my Xrays as her assistant and shaved my tooth down and walked out. Then the assistant placed a “temporary” crown. I asked this person if they were an Xray technician and he said, “I’m just a guy. I do a little bit of everything.” Then the dentist comes back in and says if I felt any throbbing pain I would need a root canal. They scheduled me to come in two weeks later for the permanent crown and ran my credit. I was approved for 1,200 and put all the charges on the card. I go in two weeks later to get the crown and go about my day. A couple days later, I get my EOB from my insurer. As I reviewed all the codes, I realize that the crown was %100 covered by my insurance and all of the patient fees came from the numerous x-rays, various photos and images they took, the saliva bacteria test, the medication to regenerate my tooth, and core buildup (which should come included in the cost of the crown). So I essentially paid over $1000 out-of-pocket for treatments and services that were completely uneccesary. I was under the impression that I was paying such high fees for a crown, not all the other treatments. This dentist is in-network so they knew what my fees were and completely misrepresented what I thought I was agreeing to. I’ve already disputed the charges with the credit lender, and requested my complete health records from the office so I can get a second opinion elsewhere. I plan to also file complaints with the dental board and consumer protection bureau. Has anyone gone through something like this and successfully been reimbursed? Any and all advice is much appreciated!

Had a little divot on my tooth that has a filling. But the filling is healthy. They were able to smooth it down but it doesn’t really look better. Makes me so self conscious
