Just spent a month with SEVERE tooth pain due to anxiety and hope LOL
Had a cracked tooth, developed Irreversible Pulpit (I think that’s what it’s called) the pain literally had me considering suicide I live in the UK and am a NHS patient I haven’t had my own dentist for years but the pain was the worst toothache I’ve ever had every single hour of every day most nights not sleeping only freezing cold water giving me relief, almost drowned myself after drinking 8 litres of water in a day, had sever cramps in my stomach where I had damaged my bladder or put it under tremendous stress. The tooth pain almost induced a psychosis in me. I finally had it removed 62 hours ago. It was a hour and 15 min procedure with only local anaesthetic not sedation, the dentist was great but slightly older and she was also quite frail and small so getting my tooth out was a serious struggle for her. She had to pull, attempt to twist it, push the metal screwdriver thing into the tooth to crack it, she tried wiggling it with the grippers then when that didn’t work she got the drill and stated just manually drilling into the tooth to break it apart and split it in half, when she couldn’t do that any longer she then drilled or sawed my jawbone away to loosen the tooth, this was about 45 mins in 💀 she was ready to give up and send me to the hospital there and then but I assured her I was so numb I didn’t really feel a thing so begged her to continue. After another 30 mins of drilling, pulling, wiggling, bone sawing and putting pressure on the tooth it finally came out. I almost fainted getting out of the chair my body was in complete shock I was shaking uncontrollably but wasn’t in pain but I think my immune system was destroyed due to the shock horror of what was happening. The dentist herself was shocked I sat through it and was really worried about me but I have no more suicide inducing pain so I’m happy I bit the bullet but I feel significantly traumatised I can’t stop thinking and talking about it I cried and had a breakdown a hour afterwards. The reason my tooth didn’t want to come out is because I’m mixed race Black/White and like the dentist said my bones are a lot stronger so my jaw didn’t want to let go of the tooth but like I said I’m significantly traumatised and wondered if anyone else on here can share their trauma and if there was any after care/support for this kinda thing
