QQ on missing WiFi adapter

I just received a spanking new 2026 Dell XPS 13 -- great little machine, BTW -- and immediately installed Fedora Workstation on it. Happily it looks like most of the associated hardware -- webcam, audio, mic, etc. -- are recognized and work. Unhappily, the wireless hardware is MIA.

From looking at some Fedora reports where this has been the case, one root cause is that Windows Fast Boot may have locked down the adapter and hidden it from Fedora's view. There's no BIOS setting for disabling WFB, so any suggestions on how I might fix the problem without having to DL a Win11 image and install it just to turn off the damn setting. Or am I basically fucked?

Dell XPS 13 (2026) hardware

Just received the new XPS 13 I ordered on 6/16, delivered a week ahead of the initial projected schedule. Will be experimenting with Linux installs shortly, but first impressions of the hardware build:

  • Very, very nice CNC aluminium body;
  • Keyboard is excellent, key travel isn't long, but firm;
  • Touchpad better than average for mechanical (just a bit flexy);
  • Screen is excellent, with superb brightness, resolution, and color rendition.

I have to imagine a lot of first-day orders will get fulfilled today, so should be plenty of discussion coming soon.

2026 XPS 13 (DX13260)

Now that orders are being taken worldwide, I have to think some production units are already in the hands of the usual reviewer suspects. And en masse deliveries should be underway in a couple of weeks. What I'm hoping:

  • That there will be several discussions/reviews that are in depth and unbiased;
  • That a few earlybirds will try out Linux installs using several distro families and get the ball rolling on identifying/fixing anomalies (reasonable to expect a few) and optimizing the user experience overall.

I have the feeling Windows will run out of gas pretty quickly on the low-spec model, but it could turn out to be a great solution for a thin, light and well-constructed Linux productivity machine.
