1925 Aspen Pics and Review

I just received my first pair of 1925s. I went back and forth on whether I should go up a width given the sleekness of the last. u/bigstetson assured me that I should stick with my normal Nick’s size, and his advice was spot on. I followed his recommendation and the fit is perfect.

My goal was to build a pair of boots I could wear to the office without looking like “the guy in work boots.” The 1925 last absolutely fits the bill, adding sleekness without sacrificing the classic Nick’s feel.

That’s not to say these are ordinary dress boots. These can absolutely hold their own next to high-end Viberg and Alden offerings, but they also have a lot more leather underfoot than either, which should translate into a lot more comfort as they break in and mold to my feet.

The Aspen Horsehide feels incredible, and I’m excited to see how it ages. The medallion toe cap and single-row welt stitching add to the more formal aesthetic, while the block heel provides a stable, grounded feel.

For added perspective, I included a few photos with blue dress pants, selvedge denim, and bootcut Wrangler jeans to help visualize how these might work with different styles.

So far, these feel like the perfect middle ground between heritage work boots and refined office boot but with the added comfort and durability of a PNW build.
