Portfolio first, parenting later...

Wife’s in labour and I’m sitting outside the OT thinking about baby names.

Then I saw this and realised I should probably be thinking about the portfolio instead. 😂

At this point, should I just ask the doctor if we can get the demat account opened before delivery?

Option selling looks easy… until the market disagrees 😂

Option selling is pretty tempting collect premium, small profits, repeat.

But the problem is, your profit is limited while the loss can get ugly very quickly if the market makes a big move.

One bad day and those “easy premiums” suddenly become very expensive. 😂

Things you randomly discover on X

Dammm!! I had no idea something called 4th Cross even existed until I came across Nithin's tweet today

So basically, 4th Cross Labs is the open-source identity of Zerodha’s engineering team.

I ended up checking out a few of the projects and Whatomate was pretty interesting....basically a tool to automate WhatsApp messages. Finally, I can be more proactive with my clients, didn’t expect to find something like that in the list tbh.

Then I kept scrolling and there’s actually a lot of cool stuff there……..

Pretty wild that a ~35-person tech team has been building all this internally and then putting it out in the open....!!!

Hats off to the team!!

Wow its already been 16 years !!

Well since sensex expiry did not go as I planned, Had some time to kill so I just went through Nithin’s 16-year update. A lot of interesting stuff in there, especially around MTF, AUM and how they’re looking at the business with markets being slow.

But this part stood out to me:

And this one pretty much sums up the philosophy,

16 years in, and I think this customer-first approach is still one of the biggest reasons Zerodha has built the kind of trust it has.....Dill jeet liyaa yaar tunae !!

Full update: 16 years of Zerodha: Fresh enthusiasm

Sensex Expiry Zero to Hero Or Hero to zero 😂

₹78,000 CE trading at ₹3 and then shooting up to ₹80 today. 😂

If you were selling that ₹3 premium, I hope you had your stop-loss ready… because CAS clearly had other plans.

Expiry day + CAS = not a great day to be an option seller

One policy. Multiple market impacts.

https://economictimes.indiatimes.com/markets/bonds/fpis-pump-record-funds-into-g-secs-after-policy-shift/articleshow/131815052.cms?utm_source=chatgpt.com&from=mdr

Following the government's decision to exempt FPIs from taxes on investments in Indian G-Secs, foreign investors have poured a record ₹33,000 crore into government bonds in just two weeks.

Why does this matter?
As demand for bonds rises, yields fall. India's 10-year G-Sec yield has already declined from 6.98% to 6.84%, lowering the government's borrowing costs and improving overall liquidity conditions.
There's another important angle: foreign investors bring dollars into India. These inflows strengthen the country's external position and can provide support to the rupee during periods of global uncertainty.
Many saw this as a tax concession. The bond market seems to be viewing it as a signal that India
wants deeper and more stable foreign participation in its debt markets.

I've been tracking bonds for a while now and am considering deploying around ₹2 lakh into this asset class.
As someone who's primarily invested in equities and ETFs, the recent developments in the bond market have caught my attention. For those already investing in bonds, what's opinion on this ?
