The political masterstroke of Mavigun, the political implications
Jagan lost the 2024 elections on the three-capital plank.
Amaravati, on the other hand, helped sweep Guntur, Vijayawada, and to some extent, Prakasam and Godavari districts.
We as humans, as voters, want government decisions to benefit us. With the capital in their region, it's going to benefit this populace. So they overwhelmingly voted for Kutami.
Now with Mavigun, the capital is still in their region, but amidst their properties.
Compared to house and landowners in Machilipatnam, Vijayawada, and Guntur, the landowners in Amaravati are a minuscule number. For such a large population, better appreciation of their assets is going to be a game-changer.
Amaravati is empty land; it needs a huge number of projects to fill it. So, property appreciation in other regions is minuscule.
With Mavigun, property appreciation is going to extend far and wide beyond Mavigun.
This also would help the future government as more land transactions and revenues would happen.
Imagine an SBI building in a village near Machilipatnam would create more real estate assets than the same building in Amaravati.
Once the opposition can take this message to the public, it's very difficult for the Kutami government.
It's a political masterstroke. That's why Kutami is opposing it more than the three capitals. They know it's a threat.
