what is causing the line on my UL rod to keep getting small knots halfway up my line?
hello, all, i've had my UL rod for about 2 years and recently i've started to have a problem with constantly getting small knots halfway up my line which obviously makes it impossible to cast and reel it in properly. i read that it might be caused by using lures that are too light, but i don't think that's the issue, because i'm using the same lures that i was using when i first got the rod, the knots show up regardless of what lure i use and the casting weight is 3-12 grams. i've already had the line changed, because there was barely any of it left and i was hoping it would help, but the issue persists. i'm starting to think it's a problem with my reel, because the bill will go forward slightly without me touching it, but i don't want to get a new one if i don't have to.
if you have had a similar problem, i would love to know what ended up solving it, because i'm absolutely burning through line.
