Taking a census. I just got a 3 year old dark brown Chessie from a reputable breeder that raises show dogs. She is show dog quality but smaller than the standard. Her name is Harper but I have a beagle named Harper. My Chessie doesn’t respond to her name so I’m going to change it today before she goes to the vet. Here are a few options. I love Bruna which fits her chocolate coat and her Beauty but I am having a hard time remembering it. Maybe because I have never heard that name before? I liked Darla but my adult daughter doesn’t think it fit. She suggested Veda from the movie “my girl”. Her amber eyes really stand out with her chocolate coat. Not sure if coco is an option. Other suggestions are welcome.
Please let me know if you prefer one of these names over the other. FYI we had the best Chessie named Banks that past last December at the age of 12. Thank you all😊

I have wanted a mini Bernese because I wanted a medium size Bernese looking dog. Also both the Bernese and the cavalier are mellow dogs.
After reading endlessly about ethical breeding I am having a hard time finding a dog that is calm, Bernese looking and around 20-40 pounds and does not need professional grooming every 6 weeks as did my cavalier. All of the mountain dog breeds that look like the Bernese are too big and or high energy. I am a therapist and train my dogs as therapy dogs so I want an easier dog, not to mention I’m not that young anymore. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Has any anyone dealt with Violet Hills, Daisy View or Love Berners breeders. Comments only if you have had contact or purchased dogs from these breeders.
