Knees hurting after skipping

Hey everyone,

So I started trying to skip a few days ago and I think I might have over done it. I still stumble quite often and can only do around 10 full skips back to back. But I kinda did 40-60min from day 1 to day 4, and the inner region around my knees has started to hurt.

Should I stop for a few days and then restart ?

How much time should I do when I restart ? 10,15,20 min ?

Any advice would be helpful.

Knock knees and martial arts

Hey everyone,

So I'm a 35 yr old guy, reasonably fit, lift weights 4-5 times a week and I was thinking of taking up Muay thai. But my main worry is that I might end up injuring myself.

I can squat 1.5 x my body weight for reps and doing high bar squats doesn't seem to be causing me knees pain or anything.

I'm just curious to know if adult knock knees can be made worse by martial arts.

Tried skipping for the first time today

Oh boy ! I'm beginning to think that I'm the most uncoordinate person in the world.

I thought it would be easy, I've seen kids just pick up a rope and start skipping , like it's some sort of natural pre installed skill.

How today went :

  1. I tried to skip without my shoes on, now I have some red welts on my feet

  2. Rope kept hitting the back of my head, then I adjusted the length because it was too short

  3. Then kept getting the rope tangled between my feet every 2 counts.

I just feel so uncoordinated and clumsy. I fully intend to keep trying everyday. Today , my performance just kept getting worse after a point, so I stopped.

After lifting weight for 6 years, I today realised that my hand eye coordination might be garbage.

That thought I'd vent a bit here. Feel quite embarrassed tbh.

Is $2000/month enough to survive in bangkok

I have heard many people throw around varying numbers.i know the monthly amount can change wildly depending on ones lifestyle, but I'm just trying to get a basic understand of what is required for a moderately comfortable lifestyle. My defination of comfortable is where I don't have to think twice before ordering take out or be tensed about the bill at a decent restraunt. I know those examples might sound silly, but I lived in very financially adverse circumstances most of my life and now I finally have a passive income of 2k per month.

So What I wanted to know is , is $2000/ month a good enough amount to survive in bangkok ?

Muay thai with knock knees ?

Hey everyone,

So I just want to start by saying that I have no experience what so ever with any form of martial arts. But I will be travelling to bangkok on the near future and really wanted to get into muay thai. My main issue is that I have a moderate case of knock knees ( genu valgum. In this alignment, the knees angle inward and touch each other, while the ankles remain spaced apart when standing straight). But I have been regularly weight training for the past 6 years. I can perform squats 1.6 x my body weigh and perform cardio for 40min everyday. My knees haven't given me any pain of problems yet , but I really wanted to know if I could learn and progress in muay thai or is it a waste of time for someone with my condition.
