I Swear

Have we discussed body language and Tourettes? I don’t have this issue personally, but have friends and associates with Tourettes… and this is the most honest body responses ever. Uncontrollable, yet usually brings out the very thing they are trying to avoid at times. One guy kept touching people’s private parts because the thought must have crossed his mind, “we don’t touch other people there.” Got kicked out of their job for it. Another mentioned ticks from others will set them off. Which is terribly hilarious until the moment calms. (If you haven’t watched the film: I Swear, it’s worth your time to get an insight on one person’s tics.) If you have Tourettes and I know, you don’t have to apologize for any vocal tics or swings unless you manage to hurt me in the process. I certainly feel the pull to respond to a tic with a similar action… so my understanding is Tourette’s just amplifies whatever makes us blend or match. Like when someone yawns, it typically drives another to do the same.
