Let's Start Giving Legit Solo Devs More Slack

As AI gets better and better, the stuff it generates will unfortunately start looking more visually appealing. Tbh I've been struggling with my mental health because I'm not the most talented 3D artist or programmer. I'm constantly comparing my work to the world's best. So I pretty much hate everything I make, even though my gf praises my abilities. However after seeing so many AI games being posted on Reddit something dawned on me.

Maybe my weaknesses are actually a strength. Maybe my natural art style will authenticate my games. Because it won't be perfect. You'll be able to see the imperfections in the meshes I modeled in Blender from scratch because I don't have that natural talent that allows me to make perfect looking characters or creatures. Imperfection may eventually be the validator for games made legitimately.

I think people will put up with imperfect games if they're built with passion and have a fun gameplay loop. The art no longer needs to be perfect. I'm working on an FPS roguelike right now and making everything in the game from scratch. All of the environment assets, character models, weapons, enemies, animations, decals, niagara systems, and doing all of the programming through UE blueprints. Literally everything.

I hope I can convince my fellow game devs to cut ourselves some slack. Getting a job at a AAA studio is extremely hard right now. You have to be a specialist in something, or just incredibly well rounded, basically a prodigy or industry veteran. So we have to support each other.

Tokens Available to Transfer Not Sending

Idk how Coinbase expects to take over the entire financial infrastructure of the world when their products are so buggy. It's fucking scary. I'll trust Coinbase with money I'm not afraid to lose but leaving all of finance in their hands with how cheap you guys are is fucking absurd. Hire some more people, stop using AI and fix your shit Coinbase. Today was the most frustrating experience I've ever had in the crypto space. To the AI bot that will respond to this post. Don't bother. I'm so fucking close to dumping all of my crypto holdings and never returning. You guys are lucky it's bear season and pointless to sell right now.

Someone Educate Me - How Should I Feel About Algo Traders

I've been trading crypto for quite some time and I understand algorithmic trading has always been a thing, but I've never had positive sentiment around it. My current POV is that they're built around short term gains which over time, increase the amount of sell orders, especially if your trading algorithm loses money, because they'll automatically sell to stop losses.

I love challenging my own opinions with opinions from others, so I would greatly appreciate some community input on the positives algo traders provide. Yes I know Claude exists and I could ask Claude, but I want to analyze real human sentiment around the matter. Not regurgitated crypto finance training data.

The order books are currently moving so fast, it almost feels like nobody is actually trading and it's all just bots moving around their orders. What do you guys think? Should exchanges continue allowing algorithmic trading APIs? Do you think trading bots have a negative impact on order books and market caps?

Stock Buy Back Discussion

What do you guys think of the government preventing stock buy backs?

Me personally I think it's absolutely absurd to call it market manipulation or artificial as long as the company is using dollars from net income or cash reserves from operations rather than dollars they receive from their IPO.

The whole point of purchasing stock is to make an investment. People aren't starting businesses for fun, it's not a hobby. These politicians think the main focus should be on increasing wages for employees, which is a joke when they can increase minimum wage. Or another one I hear, they should be focused on making better products, well if their products are that bad, net income will drop, and investors will sell.

When a company issues shares, they're essentially taking on debt and their investors are the one's who own their debt. They should absolutely be doing everything in their power to make sure investors don't lose money, even when their company is under valued.

With the AI boom, there are a ton of over valued stocks sucking up capital from valuable companies. Stock buy backs are a great tool for companies to show their investors there is still a reason to hold.

It feels to me like the government just want the AI stocks to keep going. They want to bury companies that can challenge them by taking away the financial tools that give them a fighting chance.

From the current buzz it seems like they want to get rid of buy backs and dividends.
