From a reply on this subreddit, I learnt there’s a rule of thumb that when you are on the hoods, the hub of the front wheel should be blocked from view by the bars.

If you can see the hub over the bars should you be looking for a bigger bike/longer stem?

(Asking because I have a new bike with shorter reach than my old one and feels much more comfortable… but I can see its front hub clearly from the drops.)
