Left my Ltd sitting dormant after going inside IR35, now starting at a £7k tax bill and an overdrawn DLA

Switched to an inside-IR35 contract back in November after 3 months on the bench. Left my Ltd company open thinking I might pick up side work, but nothing came up. Now the Corporation Tax deadline is three weeks away, £7,800 is owed to HMRC, and I have a £5,400 overdrawn director's loan from covering my mortgage while out of work.

Current business bank balance is £114.

Accountant quoted £1,100 + VAT to deal with it and warned me not to just file a DS01 while owing tax. [Spent yesterday ringing around, looking at Director First to see if a formal liquidation is even worth it for amounts this small, and reading old threads here about HMRC objections.]

If I just leave the bank account empty and let HMRC eventually force the compulsory strike-off, does that trigger a personal chase on the DLA from the insolvency service? Just trying to figure out if I'm forced to pay out-of-pocket for an IP or if people actually just let Companies House wind these down.

Water damage in apartment, what should happen after the cleanup?

I had a water leak in my apartment recently and I am trying to understand what the normal process looks like after the water is removed.

The visible damage is gone, fans and dehumidifiers were used, but I keep wondering about the areas I cannot see. How do people usually know if there is still moisture behind walls, under flooring, or somewhere mold could start growing?

I am trying to avoid making repairs too early and then finding out there was a bigger issue underneath. For anyone who has dealt with water damage before, what steps happened after the initial drying process?

Edit:

Update: I ended up getting the affected areas checked properly instead of guessing where the moisture was hiding. East Side Restore Pros in Washington helped me understand what needed to be addressed before moving forward with repairs, and it saved me from tearing things out without knowing the actual problem.

Need advice finding an employment lawyer in Indianopolis.

Hey everyone, I’m looking for some advice on finding a good employment lawyer in Indianapolis.

I’ve been dealing with an issue at work that has gotten more complicated than I expected. What started as a disagreement with my employer turned into concerns about my rights, how the situation was being handled, and whether I was being treated fairly. I tried to resolve things internally, but I reached a point where I felt like I needed professional advice to understand my options and make sure I wasn’t making any mistakes.

I’m looking for an attorney who has experience with employment matters, communicates clearly, and can help explain what steps to take next. If anyone has worked with an employment lawyer in the Indianapolis area or has recommendations, I’d really appreciate hearing your experiences.

Broker is threatening to drop exclusivity because our diligence is taking too long

We are 22 days into a 45-day exclusivity period on an HVAC distribution business. Seller wants $1.4M and claims $380k in SDE, but the CIM listed 16 separate add-backs.

We didn't even get the raw QuickBooks file until day 11. Once we got in, $24k of "marketing expenses" turned out to be personal slip fees for the owner's boat in Florida, and there's another $30k in "consulting" paid to a relative who doesn't work at the shop.

The broker is calling me every morning at 08:30 AM saying I'm over analyzing a Main Street business and threatening to put the listing back on the market if we don't waive the financial contingency by Friday.

Do buyers really just waive diligence on $50k+ of unverified add-backs, or is this broker just trying to bully me into closing before the lender spots the gap?

Where do you buy your protein powder and shakes?

I’ve recently started paying more attention to my workouts and nutrition, and I’m looking for a high-quality shake or protein powder to help increase my daily protein intake.

I’m mainly looking for a product suitable for use around workouts, something easy to prepare and with good nutritional value. I’ve seen people here on Reddit mention Shake That Weight as an option for shakes and high-protein products, but I’d like to hear from people who use these kinds of products before spending my money.

Which brands do you recommend for shakes or protein powders?

Are there any that taste good, mix well, and are worth the price?

I’d appreciate any suggestions from those who train regularly.
