Tell me the bad.
I want to hear people vent about what you hate or is very difficult about homesteading.
Has anything ever made you reconsider?
How is homesteading with young kids? Does it make it much harder?

Idk if this is even the right thread for this but want opinions, thoughts, suggestions, anything….
Have a very very good friend who’s interested in purchasing a large property with me. He has a wife and one child, I have a wife and 2 children. Both former military and 100% P&T. His goal is to ranch cattle enough to get by with his disability and cattle profits. My goal is to run my business remotely with my va benefits and farm enough to feed the families and maybe sell a bit here and there at markets and farm stands.
That’s super vague and I know it so ask whatever you must but I guess I’m looking for opinions on what’s the best area to purchase for a goal like this and why is some advice from people who really live this kind of life.
How much acreage for something like this? How feasible is it? I don’t intend to ranch full time with him but happy to help. Would plan to purchase land that has two properties or build two homes on the land and he could start an LLC and lease the land to the ranch for the cattle.

Mostly looking for advice. Kind of wanting to rant.
I’m trying to get a copy of my medical records from when I was AD. I’ve been out of the Marine Corps since 2019. I got some sort of a copy of a kind of abbreviated record?? Maybe? In 2023 but I cannot remember at all what it was or where I may have saved that file on what computer.
Anyway everything is different now? The blue button report only gives things I’ve seen the VA for now while I was active. Google told me go to MHS Genesis and I can get my record there but I can’t use my DS login as it says my account is inactive.
I’m not shitting you I tried for 6 hours today to make a DS log on account and 99% of the time I got “FORBIDDEN” when I clicked verification status then had to wait 30 minutes to try again. Over and over and over. I tried my DL and passport as well as my current and former mailing address to see if that may be it.
Nothing. If I get that forbidden message again my computer is going to catch a smooth one I stg.
Does anyone have any advice to get a copy of my full complete record that doesn’t take 6 months? Am I fucking something up?
Thx
I know there’s posts on here about this and I’ve read a ton.
Haven’t attempted vre yet but I intend to try to utilize the self employment track.
I’ve read all the things that say it’s damn near impossible, but I really want to hear from the people who have had success with it.
You don’t have to get too personal, but how did they help you?
How did you prove self employment was the only option?
How has your business done since getting approved?
Did you need to show a track record of business success for your approval?
For the flight school managers and CFIs.
What do you like/dislike about fsp, flight circle, My Fbo?
Are the prices worth it? I see flight circle advertises $10/m per aircraft but I assume processing fees?
For the CFIs, is one easier for you to use than the others?
Appreciate any insight

Was curious if anyone had any recommendations for horses, seminars books, etc. That you feel you really learned a lot from and took a lot of from?
Sometimes it seems hard to separate the real educational resources from gimmicky cliche speakers.
Still new to making cold calls and as I’ve heard a number of times, it gets better with practice, but I’m curious if anyone has advice on how to not over analyze what you’re trying to say on the phone.
I’m a very analytical person by nature and I always find myself stumbling over my words and almost talking in circles on the phone when I’m reaching out to people.
Example:
Customer: *asks a question*
Me: *answers the question*
In my head: “that sounded dumb to me. Was that a dumb answer? Have I already lost them? Should I try to answer that question again in a different way?”
I find it hard to speak freely or “off script”. I speak fine and with huge confidence in person but for whatever reason on the phone I clam up.
