How to stop over analyzing your calls?

Still new to making cold calls and as I’ve heard a number of times, it gets better with practice, but I’m curious if anyone has advice on how to not over analyze what you’re trying to say on the phone.

I’m a very analytical person by nature and I always find myself stumbling over my words and almost talking in circles on the phone when I’m reaching out to people.

Example:

Customer: *asks a question*

Me: *answers the question*

In my head: “that sounded dumb to me. Was that a dumb answer? Have I already lost them? Should I try to answer that question again in a different way?”

I find it hard to speak freely or “off script”. I speak fine and with huge confidence in person but for whatever reason on the phone I clam up.
