Allied towing and Story have monthly auctions. Anyone have any experience with them?

I recently learned that Story towing and Allied towing each have monthly auctions. Does anyone here attend those regularly and what is your experience with them? Are there a lot of people bidding? Are there good deals to be had? I've never attempted to buy a vehicle from an auction but can remember my grandpa doing so... He always said he got great deals, but now that I'm an adult I realize that no one likes to admit otherwise 🤣

What's been your experience? I'm pretty mechanically savvy. I'm just maybe wanting some pros and cons of using the auction site. Thank you
