I am a transient student, do I need to defer my start date at my university?

I completed the transient student application and was cleared by both my home and host institution to complete summer classes at my host college. This was a plan advised by my counselor. However, I received an email from admissions stating I am not signed up for classes for my home institution (my university), so I let them know that I will be completing my summer term at the host college. I think it’s important to know I was suppose to start during the summer at this university as a transfer, but my uni counselor insisted to keep up classes at my old college for a longer summer term — to ease my science courseload (2 month summer vs 3 month summer at my college).

Anyways, I explained it to the admissions and they said I would need to defer my application. Is this necessary? My counselor did not mention this and it seems unnecessary since these credits will be sent to the uni.

Thank you and I appreciate any advice.

Hello! I was trying to admit for Fall 2026 For the major Communication Science & Disorders, but got rejected. I passed the Feb major deadline, is it because it’s too late for this major and I would have to apply next Feb? Would that stop my general admission?

Someone told me it wasn’t too late, but I’m not sure anymore.

This is what my rejection letter said:

“Transfer admission is a two-step process in which you must fulfill the requirements for the University and your intended major. At this time, you have not satisfied the required milestones (courses, audition, GPA, and/or limited access review) identified for your major.”

I hae AICE credits, which I am no worried may have not made it to FSU and could affect my hours. Though, Cambridge stated they sent it over 8 days ago.
