Book Swap

Hi all!

I’m thinking of organising a super lowkey meet up where anybody that would like to swap a hard-copy book would be invited, and we could chat/hangout, whatever is the general consensus really.

Personally speaking I’m sick of reading books online and dying to read something that a) is a recommendation from a fellow reader,
b) isn’t lit up in my face all the time, and c) doesn’t digitally mimic turning pages over, urgh.

But buying books isn’t cheap at all really and as somebody that has moved three cities in the last three years, I don’t see a point in sentimentally hoarding them as I once used to anymore, not sustainable.

We could gather in the eyre square on a day when the weather isn’t too bad, details could be discussed on discord if we manage to get some numbers up.

I’ve never organised anything before no matter how lowkey, so all suggestions are welcome!

Edit: Given the traction this received, I’m definitely going to plan more on this. Until then, please feel free to join the channel here if you’d like to be involved- https://discord.gg/wrBgWMaSe
All suggestions/discussions again, are welcome x

Driving Instructor

Hi all!

I am looking to start my driving lessons for an automatic vehicle, most instructors I enquired require the learner to have their own car, which I don’t have.

Are there any driving instructors that give lessons in town on their own car and are okay with providing it to sit the exam as well (on payable basis ofc)?

Pride Parade

Hi all!

I wanted to support and volunteer for the pride parade in galway, no idea how I would go about it though.

I filled in their volunteer form some time ago but haven’t heard back yet, if there’s any info on when training/briefing starts (if the prep hasn’t already started) and if I can be added to a whatsapp group if there exists one?

I volunteered and marched at the parade last year in Dublin and wanted to again this year as well but due to some unavoidable circumstances I can’t. Also recently moved to Galway for work so it’d make better sense to support here I suppose.

Any notes would be greatly appreciated x

I recently got some lifting and resistance training sessions in a different city and am now having to move to Galway for a new job.

I would like to be consistent with my training but have no idea what gym (around the city centre) would be best as well as cost effective.

My work would be in NUIG so I don’t know if there should be any club tie ups that would offer discounted rates?
