Laser Engraving Acrylic Dice - Sculpfun C1

Hiya! I've recently decided to get the Sculpfun C1 as it was about the price of buying two dozen custom dice... Figured, I might as well.
The learning curve is definitely noticable.

First I made a jig to hold the dice in place~ sadly though the tolerances aren't quite perfect yet.

50mm/min Speed and 100% Power did barely anything! But I soon figured its because its a glossy surface.

So then I used Masking Tape... and it melted through quite a bit lol.

Dialed down the settings to 300mm/min and 85% Power - which worked. Sadly again the Jig is off by a mm.

And this was the last attempt I did. 6 Passes got the depth right, but the char wasn't really great.

So now I ask you, experienced folk... for advice on this. How do I reduce the charring? Less more speed/less power and more passes? Or will the result always be the same?
I sadly only have 6 sides per dice and only a handful of blanks before I need to order more~ so asking for advice before wasting more blanks on attempts haha.

I am using Lightburn ( Still got the 30day Trial but want to buy it once I know I'll stick with it all)

Thanks for your Time!
Regards,
-Basil

Karaoke - Is it worth doing despite being bad at it? (for Content)

Hiya!
Been looking into doing some Karaoke, but I'm not really sure if I should even try. I mean the ageold topic of "you always hate your own voice" isn't even the main thing. But I'm also Tone-Deaf and never actually sang in any proper manner (No Choir boy, no Music Class, no training at all). Only embarassing amounts of singing along to the radio during commutes and the like.

So yah... is there a point? Or should people like me avoid the public shame and leave it for the people with the skills?

Thanks for your time! I'm looking forward to some of ya'll's experiences and thoughts 😃

Looking into Engraving Dice for my DnD Friends - What Budget Engraver do you reccomend?

Hiya!

I'll be upfront, I had this idea only like 2 hours ago and am looking through various products and tutorials and am very overwhelmed by the variety available and get the feeling that most stuff on the market might be very overkill for just dice... but I may be wrong!

Thats why I'm here, asking for advice 😃

I'm looking to engrave Six Sided (or maybe later even more sided) dice, usually 19mm, with Icons/Images etc. to later fill up with Laquer Paint. For fancy custom dice to use for Dungeons and Dragons.

I'm not looking to make big batches at once (albeit cool thought), just making one at a time is perfectly fine.

I read about Transparent plastic causing issues with some laser types? So I guess I'd stick to the simpler non-transparent plastic.

If anybody has an experience and reccomendations, that would be great!

Thank you tons for your time!

Hiya,
I'm fairly new to this software and while I watched many Tutorials, there's still some workflow things that make me wonder "can this be streamlined?"

Many Shorts style videos of streamers and such have their facecam on the bottom and the footage ontop. I already know that this can easily be cut from a Vod by overlaying the same media ontop and cropping/zooming the videos within the vertical layout.
However, is it possible to save that Layout (zoom, crop and position) setting as a Preset?

So that when I were to make a new Shortform Video, I'd just have to put in the new Video file and select the preset so that it's more or less how it should be from the getgo?

Thanks for your Time and help 😃 Much appreciated!

Hiya!
I'm fairly new and don't yet have a ton of experience - but while building lists and looking through the units I'm kindof on the edge on using them. Pre Nerf was a different discussion - but now post Nerf the Points cost Calculation makes me wonder if its better to just take 2x Enforcers/Coldstars instead.
They bring a good bit more Firepower and the abilities don't make the *most* difference I feel like.

Or, at least while not necessarily better - comparable?
Looking forward to see what you all think!
Thanks for your time!
