Normally, I use the board in the second picture. But, tomorrow’s 6:30-8:30 gig in the square will have parking hassles so I wanted a smaller version that I could attach to my rolling cabinet.
So, I cannibalized the big one to the 14” board above. Extremely versatile. And a looker, too!
Having become a full blown Beetronics Acolyte, I jumped on the Larva Morphing Phaser when I saw it for about $100 cheaper than new. Showed up in three days with all of the box & goodies.
I also grabbed the EQD Afterneath (also used) so I could get some ambiance and wash sounds. I really wanted the Beetronics Pollinator, but I plan to get a custom shop version at some point, and had to stop spending so much money.
I have a second board with my preamps/DIs (Source Audio Zio and a Darkglass Luminal Booster Ultra) and some external switches for the Sea Bee and Zzombee as well as an expression pedal for the Afterneath (v3), but I’m still working out the cabling.
All in all, this is pretty close to my dream board, and any future changes will be a Pollinator and a Nectar from Beetronics. And probably whatever madness they release next.
I found a custom painted Zzombee for a steal online and quickly fell in love with the way these people think. I sold a bunch of pedals and picked up the SeaBee from the Reverb Outlet for cheap and I grabbed a limited edition blush Bee Bee Dee to add to the board. Both of the mini expression pedals are on risers so I can use them without hitting anything.
It’s pure madness. No two ways about it.
I found a Sentimental Bob Tacana for a song used and snatched it up. I’ve long been a fan of tremolo on bass and this has already proven to be one of my favorites. This is the first time I’ve ever had an all analog board. So many flavors. I’m looking forward to using it on Friday.
