Rookie MX5 Observations

MX5 is mostly great. Two things:

  1. Seemingly weak brake pressure? The formula Vee and the formula ford are comparatively so easy to get to max braking and easily exceed into lock (all driving assists off). The MX5 is stand on the pedal ruthless like and it still won’t lock. My calibration and setup is spot on. The garage for tuning doesn’t seem to have bias adjustment or simulated master cylinder size swapping etc etc. What’s the go?

  2. The physics seems great apart from fairly rare oversteer events that seem to defy belief. Rarely the MX5 gets into oversteer and despite me doing all that pretty much should assure you catch it, there’s something weird that happens with the mx5 where it seems to just want to continue regardless as if some invisible force is pressing away to demand a spin. Like full lock + give it throttle + no unhelpful stuff like braking etc and what 99.9999% in other cars would for sure it there’s something about the mx5 where the spin seems inevitable regardless. What’s going on here?

The above aside the chassis just seems so nicely balanced in dynamics it’s fun to drive. I do subjectively prefer the Vee and FF (road cars are just too wrong as race cars imo) but all three are remarkably close to real life in dynamics these two above things aside. I’m impressed. Certainly better than anything else in a real time simulation for PC.

Thanks
