My fist ever model vs my latest

This is meant to give people a bit of inspiration/hope - and it might be a bit of a flex, apologiezz

First picture is over half a year ago, the other one is today - imo progress is one of best thing about this hobby - let’s go IF !

Finally got a yellow I’m somewhat glad with

Not trying to just flex, but I’ve had a lot of trial and error and would say this is my first yellow that I’m kinda glad with!

Just wanna hear some opinions for improvements or general advice - what do you guys think?

My first table-ready minis

After various advice from people in this group, and some trial and error, I would say these are my first tabletop ready minis. What do you guys think of them?

My third model, what do u guys think

Im am very much a newbie, this is my third finished model

I’m not sure if it is too orange or if I just hit that battleworn look - what do you guys think, does it look okay or at least like I am heading the right direction?

How to get shading/grimy feel

Ive started painting a few weeks ago and i kinda struggle with the shading of my IF. Various guides I’ve seen have made my models looked like I dosed them with coffee.

This time I just did the recesses with cassandora yellow, but now I just feel like the some places it just looks kinda rusty, like the backpack.

Do anyone have some advices for which paints and techniques that can give that nice gradient shade and more of a grimy look then the banana soldier I’ve got here?
