I picked up a really clean .38 S&W parts kit for a police positive. Serial numbers on it date to 1917. I am planning (I know…) on ordering one of the frames from Hunters Lodge and building from that. My parts kit is sans springs so I’ll have to pick those up. All in I’m about $150 in parts.

Any gotchas I should be thinking about? Plannin on asking the HL folks if they can give me a pre 150,000 serial number frame so I get a first issue to go along with the parts.

Any suggestions on where to get a bolt spring? I’ve found all the others but that one is elusive and I’ve only found one and it’s like $20.

Also, what about parts compatibility between first and second issues. Am I overblowing it and most of the parts are compatible?
