Is it worth buying a car that was in a rear-end accident?
I’m looking at buying a 2024 Toyota 4Runner with 28K miles. It had one owner and it was in an accident back in September 2024. It was a rear-end collision with another vehicle. According to Carfax, the accident damage was in the “moderate” range. Other than the accident, which was repaired, the car is in amazing shape, and drives great. How likely is it that this car has frame damage? Would it be too risky to get this car? I really like the car, and was thinking about negotiating the price down using the accident as leverage, as well as getting them to agree to let me take it for a day and have it inspected by professionals. I don’t have access to any pictures of the accident damage.
