My son has been obsessed with shooting little movies for a while and I think it's time he gets a camera upgrade. He's had hand-me-down Vtech Kidizoom camera for a couple years but the image quality is terrible. My ideal would be something with decent resolution (doesn't have to be super high end but not the grainy quality of most kid cameras, durable (something that's able to go underwater with a casing is a plus), and have a fairly easy to use interface.

I've looked at GoPros but read at least a couple reviews that the user.interface is challenging. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!
