Worth looking into subsidized apartments (senior)?

Hamburg
My MIL (I’ve posted our saga before) now widowed and living only off of “widow benefits” of $1600 euro a month, has rented the same 2 floor/basement home for 20 years at $1200/month cold.
The house has sold and the new owners want to live there with their future baby and renovate.
They are super nice and have offered to let her stay (legally I think she gets at least a year due to renters rights) but also have a friend leaving a small apartment that they would rent to her.

The pros-not having to get on a list of prospective renters, can move in July, it’s in a great neighborhood near one of her friends. Husband doesn’t have to do any research (he has a high demand job and his mom is just not smart)

The cons-it’s $1900 euro warm for 800sf/ perfect size though, and my husband will need to sign on the lease as he’s employed (we are in America)

I know that our state has filial agreement with Germany, so financially we are on the hook for his parents’ terrible financial planning.

Is there such a thing as subsidized apartments for seniors in Hamburg? Would she qualify since we have money or do they just look at her widow’s benefit and expenses? (we would pay regardless, but would be nice if it was closer to her current rent amount)? Is it a long wait list/is it smarter to just take this opportunity?

Thanks for any insight.

Fix moisture from possible cracked foundation in closet

Hi Y'all. We have a coat closet that shares a wall with our garage. When we purchased the house, it always smelled musty, and we thought perhaps there was previous water damage.
A few years go by and we finally have a plumber check it out (there is a spigot in the garage on that wall for some weird reason..) but turns out, it was termite damage!
Apparently there were sufficient cracks in the foundation between the garage and house, and luckily it was limited to that shared wall and did not go up very high into our walls.
Had termites treated, they've swarmed and are gone, tore wall out, put new wall and insulation in, but there is still humidity in that closet. I have not installed a baseboard yet because I'd like to figure this out before sealing up that wall completely.
I'm on my 3rd Damp Rid bag.
Is there something I can put in the crevice that is exposed before I seal up the wall? Quick-crete or some liquid-solid barrier that will fill the cracks?
Thanks in advance!

(TLDR) will I ever sleep and not sweat at night without progesterone?

Hi yall! I’m 47, 3 weeks post op total laparoscopic hysterectomy with ovary removal. I started estrogen gel 2 days after, and just started progesterone (micronized oral) about a week ago.
I felt great until the 2nd week then insane insomnia/night sweats hence the progesterone.
I’m still trying to find my “schedule” for hormones so I can sleep at night and not be a grumpy, sleepy, bog witch during the day.

Then I thought: hmmm, remember after you had your baby and all your luxurious pregnancy hair shed and you suddenly had bangs you didn’t cut yourself?

Is that going to happen when I stop progesterone someday? At what age do most people stop taking it?

If I don’t take progesterone, just estrogen, will my sleep/night sweats eventually fade on their own as my body adjusts?

From what I understand, the ONLY benefits of progesterone are calm/sleep. So should I raw dog the crappy sleep and lay on a bath towel, and if so how long does it take to feel normal again?
