Looking for new owner advice!

(Trying this again since my post got zero response on my other acct)
I am planning on getting a new corn snake in July, I have already been doing research on care and husbandry, looking into what morph I want to get, and just any information I can think of. This will be my first snake, I am somewhat familiar with reptile care as I have a leopard gecko, and my friend recently got two snakes and has been involving me in their care since they know I want to get one as well, but I was just looking for any care sheets or informative pages that can help me get as much knowledge as I can? Everywhere I look so many people have varying opinions on what the best substrate is, what the best feeders are, things like that, so any and all advice is welcome and appreciated ! I just want to be confident in giving them the best hole and care i can!

I worry that maybe he is bored sometimes but at the same time I feel like any time I try to do things with him he isn’t interested?

Today I went to check in on him and he was waiting at the front of the enclosure like he wanted to come hang out, but when I opened the door and offered my hand he wasn’t interested. Last time he came out voluntarily I tried to bring him to the living room with me to just hang out and let him have time outside of his enclosure, and before I even made it to the door, he freaked out and jumped out of my hand. He didn’t fall very far and is fine, but it still stressed me out. I know they tolerate handling and it isn’t encouraged to handle if they don’t choose to interact, so is there anything I can do to give him more entertainment/enrichment? His enclosure has plenty of hides and climbing opportunities and is plenty big, so am I just overthinking it and they just kinda don’t do much? Ive only had him since January so maybe he just isn’t that adventurous yet? Hes only voluntarily came out maybe a dozen times since ive had him.
