Question about ADs

Why do companies pay for ad space on YouTube when they know people are likely just waiting for the skip button and not watching the ads either way or have adblock in the case of being on a PC? Would it not be better to just buy it for commercials on real TV since you can't skip those?

Path of Pain and Gauntlet rooms are good for the game

I've had sometime think about why I like both these games so much and there a quite a few reason but something I see people talk about as a problem that I don't see as a problem are how the Gauntlet rooms gives no rewards.

I see video review or Steam review and post on this sub about how Gauntlet room should give an upgrade or the enemies should drop roseries/shards. After replaying Path of Pain, I understand why I never shared this same sentiment.

Path of Pain is pretty hard and rewards you with nothing at the end. All you get is self satisfaction. There's no item to get, no achievement to show, not even something in game to prove you completed it. All you get is you knowing yourself that you did it. I didn't realize it four years ago but it "fixed" the way I think about games and satisfaction in general. Satisfaction should never be tied to a reward. Getting a reward feels better than not getting one yes but everything I do now whether that's playing games or helping people in real life always just feels good without anything in return.

The gauntlet rooms aren't the exactly the same as they block story vs PoP is optional but for me, the ideas they both carry are the same. Like you beat the gauntlet room and it just feels good. I don't need some crazy powerup at the end to make me feel good and it kind of makes me sad to see how frustrated some people get when there isn't a reward. They talk about it as if they just wasted their time. Imagine if you did something for charity, didn't get a tip and just thought to yourself that it was a waste of time.

For me, this mindset change that happened four years ago really made life more happy and simple. Stopped caring about what I can show to other people and more did things for myself because I liked it. I remember my family asked me about buying a more expensive car because other people will think its cool and I kind of was just puzzled. Basically told them, "Why would I need to buy something to show off to people I will never see again?"

I'm just wondering if anyone else here shares the same feeling about the gauntlets or if there is some other piece of the arguments for why they are bad.
