Correct size desktop?

I'm making a custom L desk using two 60in x 30in butcher blocks. This means the long part of the L will be 90in, while the short part will be 60in.

I'm looking at both uplift and imovr desk frames, and I can't tell if the length of the desk matters. For example, the uplift desk frame goes up to 80in x 60in, which seems close enough, but I don't know if it'll have some weird fitting or stability issues on arrival.

So my question is: does the length of the frame have to be the same as the desktop length? Or is the 80x60 option sufficient?

Surprising advice on HVAC install

I'm in Chicago, and I've gotten 3 quotes on a new central AC unit and condenser.

Two of the quotes sat around 6-8k for the HVAC work. Electrical work has not been quoted yet.

But one quote was 16k. He stated that the existing furnace was installed upside down and needed to be replaced. He also stated I need at least 16 SEER and that anything lower would lose efficiency way too fast. About 2.5k of this was including electrical.

Is this furnace installed upside down? And do I really need 16 SEER with heat pump?

Furnace model is RGF19060BE12MP13A

American Standard or Ameristar?

Hello,

I just bought a house in Chicago, and was quoted 6.5k for a 2.5ton 13.4 SEER condenser and attachment to pre-existing central heat duct work.

I was also quoted 7.3k for a 2.5ton 13.4 SEER American standard condenser and attachment.

Quotes include all work, parts, and labor. The cooled area is 900ish sqft

What's typically higher quality? I'm seeing a lot of posts here with mixed opinions, and a lot of people saying they're not different at all. The HVAC tech told me his opinion that they're not different as well, so I'm leaning towards just getting the Ameristar.

The price difference is small enough that I would just want the most reliable one. Any consensus from people here on what's better?
