Which store in the Yorktown Heights area has the most gluten-free food items?

Any store, supermarket, etc, is okay except for Trader Joe's, I know the GF foods they carry, thanks!

Small, cozy, out of the way restaurant?

If you wanted to take someone to a cozy, out of the way restaurant, with good food, where not many people would see you dining in the county, where would you go?

Anybody else having trouble with their eyes in this heat?

My eyes have been twitching, itchy, blurry, sandy, tired and strained going in and out of the cold and heat, being hit with iair conditioning, ceiling fans, and looking at screens. Eye drops make my eyes feel worse. Except for the smokey air during the Canadian fires, is anyone else having eye issues?

Capital Gains on Home Sales

There is a bill in Congrees to double the tax exemptions which are in place now($250,000 - single, $500,000 married), so if you are planning to sell, it might be wise to wait and see if the bill passes to save on taxes in 2027. This is part of a plan to encourage homeowners to sell and make more housing available.

Gluten tied to histamine intolerance.

Just watched a video on histamine intolerance, according to the doctor, carbohydrate malabsorption is tied to histamine intolerance and he recommends going gluten-free if histamine is problematic for you. Apparently histamine affects most body systems, so if you haven't solved your digestive problems, histamine could be the culprit. There are home testing kits available.

Riverwalk in Tarrytown

I was at Riverwalk today and was wondering if the pool by the senior center is private for the residents of the expensive town homes or is it owned by the city because today there were kids from a camp in the pool. If it's owned by Tarrytown, do the townhouses have another private pool?

Soft gluten-free cracker

Does a soft gluten-free cracker exist? Schar's table crackers are good but too hard, I have to dip them, their entertainment crackers are softer, but made from soy flour, so I stopped buying them. All the rice, almond crackers are too hard. Anyone know of a GF soft cracker or chip besides potato chips (which I eat). Thanks!

Is dining out too risky now due to the parasites in fresh produce recently found in NY?

There is a good chance of cross-contamination of fresh produce with other foods in restaurants due to chefs frequently using the same counter space for assembly. Knives and tongs can cross paths during rush hours. Garnishes like cilantro or green onions are chopped ahead of time on boards that may later hold finished plates.

Handwashing between touching raw produce and plating cooked food is mandatory but not always perfectly executed.

Even If you don't order fresh produce, you still aren't safe from the parasite due to cross-contamination.

Political flyers sent in the mail missing info.

Did anyone notice the political parties the candidates belong to aren't printed on the flyers any longer? I wonder if it's just a local thing or happening nationwide?

Wegman's milk?

It seems the Wegman's milk I buy has a problem, one had the aftertaste of parmesan cheese, another one turned into a yellow liquid. I tried their regular milk and lactose-free. I refuse to buy milk there now, I've never had this problem buying milk in any Westchester area store. Has anyone else noticed this?

Yorktown Heights electric bill?

How much would the monthly electric cost be in an all electric 2 bd, 1 bath condo/co-op in the 55+ community (one listing is on Devon St) in Yorktown Heights? I'm looking for a ballpark figure since the electric bills vary depending on use.

Con Edison Billing

Con Edison is mailing me overdue bills with late charges every other month, I have been a customer for several years and never made a late payment. When I called about the bills, ta rep told me they switched me to e-mail payments because they have my e-mail address. Con Ed did this without my consent or knowledge! I demanded to have the bills sent to my home again and a reimbursement of the late charges.
