Hi, I'm Cristina — designer, mother, teacher, and explorer of paths that help people

Hi!!

I thought I'd introduce myself :)

I'm Cristina, a graphic designer specialized in visual accessibility. I believe design should be for everyone, without barriers.

I'm also the mother of two amazing daughters, and a teacher. I give children classes in art, English (i am living in Spain), calligraphy, writing, and watercolor painting. I love watching how art and movement spark curiosity and connection.

What drives everything I do are clear values: helping people, caring for the Earth, and finding paths that make us more human and more aware.

Lately, I've been diving into neuroscience especially how small, intentional movements can improve focus, memory, and mental clarity. I'm fascinated by the connection between fine motor skills, bilateral stimulation, and the brain's ability to regulate attention.

I also have a growing concern about how AI is interfering with cognitive development, especially in children, and I believe we need to return to the tangible, the manual, and real connection.

I'm here on Reddit sharing what I'm learning and trying out. I'd love to connect with other women who are building meaningful projects, whether you want to share what you're working on, ask a question, or just say hi.

Feel free to reach out anytime. 💙

Teaching typing to my children — looking for resources and advice

Hi everyone,

I'd like to introduce touch typing to my two daughters (9 and 13). They're both at an age where they'll need to type more for school assignments, and I want to set them up with good habits from the start.

I'm looking for:

  • Free online resources or websites (preferably ad-free or kid-friendly)
  • Any tips on how to structure practice — how many minutes a day? How many weeks/months until they get comfortable?
  • Experiences from other parents or teachers — what worked for you? What didn't?

I'm not looking for them to become speed demons, just to build a solid foundation and proper finger placement so they don't develop bad habits.

Thanks in advance for any recommendations! 🙏

Looking for online resources to learn more fingerplay songs

Hi everyone!

My daughters went through their first septenio in a Waldorf school, and it was such a beautiful time for all of us. They're a bit older now and we've moved on to other educational paths, but I really miss the Waldorf world and I'd love to bring some of it back into our daily life.

Specifically, I'd like to recover some fingerplay songs we used to do and learn new ones. I want to use them with my girls right before they sit down to study — there's good evidence that finger movements promote relaxation and help with focus and concentration before mental work, and I think it would benefit them at any age. Plus, we just miss the warmth and rhythm of those little rituals.

I'm looking for:

  • YouTube channels with good fingerplay demonstrations
  • Websites or blogs that list fingerplays by season or theme
  • Book recommendations (physical or digital)
  • PDFs or printable resources would be amazing too
  • Any collections of fingerplays for older children (not just toddlers)

We love the seasonal and festival fingerplays — those were always special.

Thank you so much in advance! 🙏
