I've been here in town for a decade and a half and the next street over there is a globe willow that has either a pair, or I am suspecting a colony (whatever the correct term is) of some black bird that is very vocal and gregarious in their calls. I grew up in the south and was curious as to what I was seeing and with a little bit of research I now know about Grackles. How have I missed this bird? The calls are fascinating to listen to and I'm torn on how I would feel if I lived closer. If anyone has any info on which variety is here in town, would love to know more.
