Should I take a gap year to invest?

I will be going off to college in the summer of 2027. I have a 17k stock portfolio and wanna at least put in 3-6k monthly. I resell thrifted items part time and make decent money doing so. Some months fluctuate but I make 4.5k on average monthly.

My plan is to go to Santa Monica college and transfer into a UC school (Preferably UCI or UCLA). I have the grades and standardized testing scores to get into a decent school, I just don't wanna spend the money. Vegas doesn't have the greatest schools - as we're ranked the top 5 worst education systems in the US. I would rather spend the 17k tuition for me to go school out here on stocks.

What should I do?
