Driving

It’s been a while since I’ve driven a manual. Most of the trucks I’ve driven at the companies I’ve worked for have been automatics. Are most line trucks nowadays automatic or manual? I know I need to brush up on driving stick before taking another call

What do groundman do at data centers??

Just wondering what goes on when we’re at data centers. Ik it’s prolly not even worth taking a call for it , but a job is a job. Do we just do regular grunt stuff like digging n driving??

How’s the work in AZ

Just wondering how working out of 769 is like. See there’s like 8 people on book 3 out there debating on going out there to sign. Is work moving slow? Is it possible to get some line crew experience as well?

Question ab re signing

Been working out of a different local that isn’t my home local and had a question about signing the books back home.

What’s the process for resigning/signing back at your home local? Do I need to get a term slip from the contractor/local I was working out of before heading back, or can I take care of everything once I get to my home local?

For reference, I was working out of state and I’m planning on signing back at Local 1245. My dues are current at 1245

Appreciate any insight.

Thinking of Taking a Step Back

I've been working as an apprentice for a couple of months, prior i was a grunt for not even that long either. I think I jumped into the apprenticeship too quickly, and I'm realizing I'm not fully ready for this level of responsibility. Im considering taking a step back and work as a groundman for a while, build up more experience, and feel truly prepared when I return to the apprentice role. I love the trade and the work, but I know I need more time.

Since I signed a contract, what would the consequences be if I step away from the apprenticeship now?

Also, does anyone know if my apprentice hours can count toward groundman hours?
