Diagnostics

I came out to the car and the car was completely dead, no light of any kind. It's a 2018 Chrysler Pacifica. I had it jumped and brought it to the dealership and asked them to run a diagnostic. They called to tell me 'it was the battery' plus two recalls and it will be $900.

I understand that dealerships are more expensive. That's the cost of the diagnostics, labor, battery. Are they also charging labor for the recalls?

However, my main question is, how do I know they ran a full diagnostic like I asked? It seems odd for it to only be the main battery. Did they misunderstand and only diagnose the one issue? I don't think I've ever walked into a mechanic and been told there was one simple answer.

History, it is my father's car. He is getting up there in years and wasn't ready to give up the idea of driving so it sat for a long while as he tried to recover from heart surgery. I've been borrowing it for a bit to help him get around and such. I just want to make sure I'm keeping it on good shape for him. I suspect there are other things wrong with it. Should I push for another diagnostic? Or will that just cost me more money?
