Do Not Go To Euphora MD in Vancouver 🚨
My experience with Euphora MD has been one of the most stressful and disappointing cosmetic / health care experiences I've had.
I received lip filler with at the clinic on July 13 and during my appointment immediately noticed multiple hard lumps on the inside of my upper lip. I raised my concerns during the appointment itself because the bumps felt weird — I've had lip filler in the past and this has never happened. My injector massaged the areas and reassured me they were a normal part of the process and would go down in 2 weeks.
Within 48 hours, the lumps did not get better at all and continued to press against my teeth, affect my speech, and cause significant discomfort. I reached out to my injector directly to send multiple photos and specifically questioned whether the filler may have been placed incorrectly. Each time I was reassured that what I was experiencing was normal swelling / filler integration and was told to wait 2 weeks. I repeatedly put trust in her evaluation as a professional, despite knowing something was wrong.
As my symptoms worsened (including slight pain, itching, and nausea) I requested an urgent follow-up appointment on July 16. I was told the earliest appointment available was July 20 and was advised to continue monitoring the situation until then. Given the severity of my concerns and symptoms, I found this response completely unacceptable — they should have made time to see me on the following day. I originally said yes to the appointment follow-up appointment with her on Monday, and then updated my appointment to be with the Medical Director, and then ultimately decided I should get a second opinion from another injector as I had completely lost trust in Euphora MD to be able to accurately examine the situation and/or provide a safe treatment plan.
After an in-person examination, the new injector I went to for a second opinion immediately identified that the filler had been injected into the mucosa of my upper lip. Due to concerns about bacterial contamination and possible infection, I was prescribed a 7-day course of cephalexin and advised that the filler should be dissolved once the antibiotics are complete — I won't be able to dissolve them until July 27 so I am still experiencing the symptoms.
What has been most disappointing is that I voiced my concerns from the very beginning (during the appointment itself and repeatedly afterward) and was consistently reassured that everything was normal. This experience has resulted in significant pain, stress, anxiety, additional appointments, antibiotics, and the added expense of corrective treatment at another clinic.
I requested a refund from Euphora MD, as again I no longer have confidence in their assessment of this complication and do not feel comfortable returning for corrective treatment. Euphora MD has offered to provide dissolving treatment at no additional cost, but I do not feel this is a safe option considering how they handled all of the follow-up. The manager confirmed over the phone today this was against their policy and her "hands were tied" and a refund would not be considered without first returning to the clinic for another assessment, and there was no guarantee a refund would be provided even if I made the trip in.
Based on my experience, I absolutely do not recommend Euphora MD. Please, if you're considering lip fillers or another cosmetic enhancement in Vancouver, go anywhere else.
