Trainee ANP

So I’ve been offered an unconditional place on the advanced clinical practice program MSc with Edinburgh Napier - and now have to get a mentor/supervisor at least ANP or ST3 or above

My currently ward is basically run by ANPs who loop on the doctors for routine things or when needed

Does anyone know how to go about asking someone to mentor or supervise them? Want to come across as genuine and professional 😂

Mean Girls Nurses

Does anyone else genuinely not understand the shocking culture in the NHS of mean girls, cliques and bullying? Seriously?

Like all of these people were students and newly qualified themselves at some point! Did people treat them like that and so they think they have to do the same? And it’s almost always women in their 30s/40s/50s?!

The saying “that’s ridiculous you should know that by now” and that type of thing especially in front of other staff is absolutely infuriating. Not helpful or even the truth. That’s very easy for a nurse of 10 or 20 years to say to a newly qualified nurse or student.

And it’s the purposely excluding people and gossiping about others like they’re children in highschool that I actually find painfully embarrassing as well.

I had an absolutely horrendous first job experience as a newly qualified nurse and the ward I worked in had a ridiculously bad reputation so I though it was just that area but since moving to this new job I’ve noticed the exact same thing.

When did nursing become like this?

Loan Options for RGN in Scotland

FYI - borrowing from family or friends is not an option. Selling any of my belongings is not an option. Asking my work organization for any sort of assistance whatsoever is not an option, I’ve tried and they don’t care. Credit unions for NHS or otherwise in Scotland are also NOT AN OPTION as I’ve looked into several.

To make a long story short, I’m a registered nurse working in NHS Scotland.

I for some unknown reason which they refuse to tell me, bank of Scotland abruptly and with zero warning whatsoever decided to close my account and withdraw all access to online banking etc. no matter how many times I tried to find out why they refuse to tell me.

Anyways, that meant I had to get a new bank account and provide the bank details to my payroll at work so I could be paid correctly. I even emailed the pay department A MONTH! Prior to payday to ensure they had my correct details.
Low and behold, payday was last week and I received nothing. I contact payroll, who say they can’t do anything because payroll has already been submitted for the next two weeks. They’ll give me money when my old bank account returns it, which I’ve explained will take two weeks. I also explained that leaves me absolutely penniless and in extreme financial hardship as I’ve absolutely no money for two weeks. They were incredibly rude in their replies repeatedly stating “as I said a week ago I can’t do anything about it”.

I’ve tried so many options to try and help me out. I’ve contacted HR/Finance department at work to see if they could provide any help, they refused.

I looked at DOZENS of credit cards, not eligible for any.
Look at multiple loan options, not eligible for any either.
Don’t have anything to pawn or sell.

Does anyone know of any options that would be available to me? I mean I made some bad decisions when I was younger so my credit history isn’t great but my credit score itself isn’t actually half bad.
