Considering how many "Important friends" he had at Kings Landing, not a single one of them sent for him.
I feel like his anger was misguided 🤣
I get into back-and-forth debates about this all the time, but I fail to understand one basic thing about the Green argument.
If the exclusion of women from the iron throne was absolute "law" rather than a custom Team Green selectively hides behind, why was Rhaenys even considered at the Great Council of 101? By Green logic, she wouldn't have had any claim to even be discussed in the first place. Team Green constantly uses GC101 and "The Queen Who Never Was" as evidence that somehow invalidates Viserys’s explicit decree and his unwavering declaration of Rhaenyra as his heir… but the logic just isn't there.
To me, it comes down to a few basic facts:
Westeros is an absolute monarchy; the King’s word is law. Jaehaerys summoned the Great Council as an advisory body to help him choose an heir, not as a parliament with binding legislative power over future kings.
Viserys made an explicit royal decree. He formally named Rhaenyra, had the lords of the realm swear fealty to her, and repeatedly reconfirmed her as his rightful heir until his dying breath.
Rhaenys vs. Rhaenyra: Rhaenys was passed over when there was no explicit royal decree naming her heir. Rhaenyra was explicitly named heir by royal decree.
Passing over Rhaenys without a decree doesn't strip a sovereign King of his right to name his own successor.
Am I missing something, or is the Green reliance on GC101 simply illogical? 🤷🏾♀️
If you buy plants at Safeway, consider this a heads-up. Months after buying my fifth houseplant from there, I realized my entire collection was infested with thrips. Thrips are notoriously difficult to eliminate; neem oil and Captain Jack’s Dead Bug Brew didn't touch them.
The only effective solution has been systemic granules, but Washington state's ban on neonicotinoids makes acquiring them online a headache, even for indoor use.
Save yourself the stress and inspect Safeway’s plants closely before taking one home.
