Yet another fire near 22nd and NW Market

What is happening?! What is going on with all of the fires? Police are blocking off part of 22nd and firefighters are responding.

Dumb question: Where to get my bike fixed?

I'm new to biking in Seattle.

The closest cluster of bike shop is in Fremont. Do I drive my bike there and back? But my bike doesn't fit in my car.

EDIT: I just called up Electric & Folding Bike NW in Ballard, and they do repair on non-electric bike (even though they are an ebike shop)

The year is 2066. Ballard finally gets light rail.

I made this Cyberpunk-inspired satire after hearing rumors that Sound Transit's internal timelines for the Ballard Link Extension could be as bad as 2066. Hopefully it's exaggerated, but the fact that it's plausible says a lot. Whatever the real date, Sound Transit isn't saying it.

And yes, graphic design is my passion.

Pileated Woodpecker at Golden Gardens today

Just next to the duck pond. Lots of animals out and enjoying the sun!

Ballard pet owners: Would you trust other pet parents for pet sitting?

Not talking about random Craigslist-style arrangements — more curious about neighborhood-based networks where people actually get to know each other over time, with background checks and repeat interactions.

A few of us around Seattle have been experimenting with this for sitting/daycare/walks using an app called Cobeau to coordinate profiles and exchanges.

Curious whether other pet owners here would be interested in something like this or if it still feels sketchy lol.

Heard a ruckus in the big pine tree behind my house. My neighborhood crows chased off a bald eagle, chasing it towards Golden Gardens.
