The actual problem
We’re 59-66, with 489 runs scored and 512 allowed. Our Pythagorean record is 60-65, so the standings aren’t hiding anything. We’re scoring 3.9 a game, and most of the shortfall lands in two places. Cal Raleigh has 375 plate appearances at a 63 OPS+, hitting .158/.269/.295 with a 32% strikeout rate across 89 games. His walk rate is still 12.5%, which suggests the plate discipline is intact and the problem is contact quality. Past him, another 375 plate appearances went to Leo Rivas at a 26 OPS+, Refsnyder at 34, Patrick Wisdom at 16, Miles Mastrobuoni at 28, Taylor Ward at 7 in his 32 plate appearances since the trade, and Buddy Kennedy at 11. Dominic Canzone has a 134 OPS+ and got 362 plate appearances. The pitching has been fine through all of this. Five starters sit under a 3.9 fielding independent pitching mark, the staff walks 2.6 per nine, and Gilbert and Hancock carry earned run averages of 3.28 and 3.35. This roster doesn’t need to be torn down. Somebody needed to shorten the leash on the bottom of that lineup back in May.

youtu.beAirPod interference on 24th
Has anyone noticed Bluetooth interference on 24th between 62nd and QFC? Feels like a newish phenomenon, but my headphones completely drop out near there pretty consistently.
