Stop posting Pirate content

Hi, this is a Mariners subreddit. If you want to talk about pirates, go to r/buccos or r/buccaneers or r/piracy. We don’t need our subreddit associated with that low-life, thieving, pillaging, gambling, filthy scum.

Captain Fired After Sinking The Boat - Calls it a "Tough One"

Captain of a tour boat was fired after only 1 year on the job. He was sailing the boat on Lake Michigan in Milwaukee when the boat struck a dock which was owned by an old Brewing company. Reports say the vessel started to sink after the hit caused 22 holes and the boat began taking on water rapidly. The Captain told reporters that the crew "really battled" to keep the boat afloat. Unfortunately, there was nothing they could do. In response to what he could do better next time the Captain said, "y'know that's just sailing."

The raised area at the stern of a ship is called the 'poop deck'. Named for the French "La Poupe" which translates to "stern", on many ships it is large enough to accommodate a 26-man roster of players who are shit.

First day on the job! :)

Super stoked to start my job as a wickie, thought I'd share this pic with my fellow men of the sea. Boss is old but seems alright!

Any advice I should keep in mind?
