Who’s the Robert Horry of the NFL?

Robert Horry played on three dynasties and won seven rings, he played alongside Hakeem, Shaq, Kobe and Tim Duncan. Who’s the NFL version of Robert Horry?

Had Cape Verde pulled off a victory, would it have been one of the greatest upsets in sports history?

Thinking only the Miracle on Ice and maybe the Giants beating the undefeated Patriots in the Super Bowl were the only ones that could hold a candle had Cape Verde pulled it off

Could the White Sox actually make the World Series this year? History shows this might not be as far fetched as you think

Last night the White Sox delivered one of the greatest beatdowns in baseball this century, beating the KC Royals 22-1. Currently they’re 42-38 and a game in front of Cleveland in first place in the AL Central. It seems like it’s crazy to claim especially at the midway point that the White Sox might make the World Series but history has a funny way of repeating itself.

In 2003, the Detroit Tigers set a then AL record of 119 losses, and in fact were it not for a 5-1 stretch at the season they would’ve set the all time loss record that the White Sox currently hold. In following seasons, they signed Pudge Rodriguez and Magglio Ordonez in free agency, and acquired Carlos Guillen in a trade, all of which were key pieces to the 2006 Tigers World Series season. They also had some guy named Justin Verlander break out and won Rookie of the Year

Now 20 years later the South Siders, the Tigers AL Central neighbors to the east look to be repeating the same history. The trade of Garrett Crochet and signing of Munetaka Murakami are appearing to yield similar results to the ones listed above. Now, there’s no Justin Verlander equivalent for this Sox team but Davis Martin is turning in a solid season.

Will the White Sox actually win the World Series? Only time will tell, but history and the Pope is certainly on the White Sox side.

What team will Lebron finish his career with?

Does anyone think the Cavs? Me personally it would just be wrong to see him retire with the Lakers even if it’s the biggest brand in pro basketball

What a crazy year in sports it’s been

Indiana won the natty
Sam Darnold won a Super Bowl
Bam broke Kobe’s 81
Knicks won the finals
USMNT looking like a legit championship threat

Can this year get any crazier?

I hate to say it but hosting the World Cup could mean bad news for Lumen Field (Seattle Stadium)

It’s ironic but the World Cup will almost certainly generate massive revenue for the city, and has seen a lot of success right now. Likely whoever buys the team will see this, salivate and build a domed stadium. This is because the new owner and the city will see that a Super Bowl would generated millions in revenue to a city and their pockets over just the weekend, and is a huge way to bring tourism into the city

Could we have won the Super Bowl in 2022?

I know weird question but was it possible? We were leading at halftime against the 49ers in the WC and if we hold on we play the Eagles, who we had not lost to in Philly since the 80s and have historically owned, then either the Giants or Cowboys in the NFC Championship, and I felt good about our odds winning there. Then the Chiefs in the Super Bowl, and people forget how hard Jalen Hurts was cooking their D, and I believe Geno would’ve done the same with Lockett and DK. I feel we could’ve won the Super Bowl if we held on at halftime against SF

What would you include in a Skubal package?

I would offer Luke Stevenson, Michael Arroyo and Farmelo in regards to minor league prospects, as well as a few mid and low tier ones. We’ll likely have to give up a major league starter but I’m fine saying goodbye to Kirby

We’re 9-3 since the inception of the piggyback

And SHOULD be 10-2 although it was poorly executed the first night of the piggyback when we gave up a 9th inning lead. So maybe the piggyback works even though there’s some pushback?

Seriously, pour one out for Arizona Cardinals fans

They will have to watch their Rams, 49ers and Seahawks battle it out this year while the Cardinals sit in the cuck chair like they always do and hope they can win the Ass for Arch sweepstakes, and even then hope he doesn’t pull an Eli Manning and request out

Thinking of a world where we’re more successful than we already are

Obviously we’re one of the most successful organizations in pro sports in the last decade. Some 2012, we have more Super Bowl championships than losing seasons and second most wins in the NFL only behind the Chiefs, who only really started becoming successful since Mahomes so since 2012 we’ve been the best run organization in the NFL. However, we’re leaving some points off our resume which is kind of impressive considering how successful we’ve been. I don’t want to bring up 2014 for reasons but, let’s think of a butterfly world where we’re the best organization in the world:

2015: we trailed 31-0 to Carolina at halftime and the turf was messy, and we still were an onside kick away from having a chance at least tying the game. However we didn’t even need to be in that position, if the turf wasn’t shot or we don’t start off super slow we won, and we have a history of playing well in Arizona and Carson Palmer was a choker, so we likely win that game and play the Broncos in the Super Bowl with Peyton Manning’s corpse, and we beat him into the ground again.

2016: if Devin Hester’s return didn’t get called for holding (which flipped the momentum of the game imo) we probably beat the Falcons, then we definitely beat GB in NFCCG and we most likely beat the Patriots in the 49 rematch

I think we sucked in 2017, I don’t think there’s really any way we could’ve made noise that year tbh

2018: if PC and BS actually let Russ cook they beat Dallas, and the Rams looked fraudulent that year so I think they win there as well. I doubt they beat the Saints but that’s an NFCCG right there

2019: if they don’t start slow in the first half against GB they win here, people forget we were a Malik Turner drop away from flipping the field and putting their defense on the ropes. Then in the NFCCG I’m confident we beat the 49ers. And in the Super Bowl, matchup against the Chiefs was 50/50 but I lean towards a win due to Russ’s history against the Chiefs, so I will give us the Lombardi here

2020 again don’t feel much would change although we should’ve beat the Rams in the WC, however the Saints, Packers and Bucs were better than us so division round exit

Same for ‘21, even if Russ never got injured best we would’ve mustered was one playoff win

Now here’s where the spiciness comes in: we likely could’ve beat the 49ers. We were driving deep in their territory down 6 despite not playing our best. If we convert there instead of turning the ball over we take the lead, and likely win. After that past history against the Eagles says we beat them in the 2019 NFCD, then in the NFCCG we likely would’ve faced the Giants or Cowboys, and despite playing on the road we win three straight road games to the Super Bowl. Against the Chiefs who were worse than their record implies I feel like we could’ve beat them. Hurts was torching their secondary in the SB and I feel Geno would’ve done the same with DK and Tyler. So I will give us the championship

2023 and 2024 remain relatively unchanged, those were clearly transition years and even 2024 would’ve been a playoff exit

So there you have it, we should have 4 more Lombardis and a few more NFCCG, 6 Lombardis this century alone would’ve been pretty damn impressive but what can you do
