Disabled family

Hi all, my mum uses a wheelchair but I can’t push a pram and wheelchair by myself. Does anyone else have a wheelchair user in the family and how do you navigate days out? I haven’t tried using the baby carrier and pushing the wheelchair yet but worried it would be a bit much for a full day

Disabled days out in Cumbria

Hi all, I am local but looking for recommendations of places to go. My mum can only walk short distances or otherwise uses a wheelchair, however I have a baby in a pram so can’t push both. Looking for recommendations of places to go where we can rent an electric wheelchair - I’m aware of Keswick and Whinlatter already :)

What does “remaining calories” mean?

I’m new to calorie counting so appreciate this is probably a stupid question … if you do exercise and get extra “remaining calories” is this still in a deficit? My app is set up to lose 0.5kg a week, not entirely sure what the deficit is exactly. Or does using those extra calories make you break even?

Birthday cake options

Hi all! Husband and I are very new to calorie counting and his birthday is next week - I would still love to do a birthday cake or cupcake to celebrate. Does anyone have any recommendations? Preferably as “real” as possible. We are based in England

Baby first holiday - shopping/ packing list

We’ve booked our first hot summer holiday with our 6.5 month old baby and just wondering if there is anything I need to add to my shopping/ packing list:
Buggy and parasol
Clothes and nappies and sun hats
Milton/ UV steriliser/ Nuby/ bottles etc
Swim nappies and swimwear and towel
Inflatable for pool
Fan to attach to pram
Sun lotion/ baby wash/ baby moisturiser

Should I pack my own spoons for feeding? What about his bib? It’s all inclusive so I’m not worried about finding him food.

What should I bring for nightwear? Room will be air conditioned so will I dress him the same as normal - should I bring the temperature egg?

Hotel is providing travel cot - should I bring my own sheets?

Any other tips would be great obviously a bit stressful when it’s the first time!

Thanks :)

Carrier walks and nappy bag

Just wondering what options there are for carrying formula/ nappies about when using the carrier! Do people just do a rucksack as well? Maybe a bum bag would stretch across the carrier? I have a baby bjorn mini and a mom cozy one if that makes a difference. Longer walks would have to be the momcozy as the baby bjorn mini doesn’t have a waist strap and puts pressure on my x section scar

Generational differences rant

I understand that 30 years ago the rules were different eg babies put to sleep on side/ stomach instead of back and weaning at 4 months instead of 6, I left you sleeping in the car seat for hours etc etc. All conversations I’ve had with my mum already. Today she found out my son sleeps in a sleeping bag and not with a blanket and she just couldn’t stop going on about it “back in my day that wasn’t recommended” I’m not sure I even believe sleeping bags were a thing back in the 90s. You haven’t held a baby in 28 years like things change sorry!!! Is there any reason to be so annoying about it, especially when (to me) sleeping bags feel so much safer - we have used a cellular blanket when baby sicked on everything else and he just kept untucking it and trying to pull it on his head
