Woohoo! Almost 6 months post op, feel normal walking again

I tore my ACL last October (hamstring allograft) and did 2 months of "prehab" before my surgery.

It's really only this week (5 1/2 months post op) where my knee feels almost normal walking.

I reach 3.2 mph on the treadmill, and most people wouldn't know by looking at me that I had the injury and surgery.

I'm still going to physical therapy, and will keep up the quad sets and walking going forward.

Just wanted to let you know, everyone who's in the first few weeks or so, PATIENCE & PHYSICAL THERAPY & YOU WILL GET BACK TO NORMAL OR ALMOST NORMAL.

Don't compare yourself too much to other people. It took me 5 weeks to get 90 degrees, and extension took much longer than expected. I'm a 47f so I can't go by how a 20-something athlete recovers, and that's okay.

You keep going at it, so you can get through it. 😀

I've been seeing a WONDERFUL Ob/Gyn for 10 years.

Apparently she left her practice last year and joined an NYU office. When I called to make my annual checkup appointment (after calling her old office) I was told I had to be calendared as a "new patient" even though I'm not new to her.

Translation: instead of an appointment 3-4 weeks away, it's 8 MONTHS away.

I'm at that age where annual mammo and Pap are needed.

Anyone have a good gyno recommendation where it won't be an 8 month wait?
