Early scan shows I’m earlier than I thought
This is my first pregnancy after trying for 1 year and it honestly feels like a miracle. I have irregular periods and know I ovulate late — around day 23/24 based on LH strips.
On Sunday I went for a reassurance scan which showed growth measuring 5 weeks 5 days, with a gestational sac and fetal pole but no heartbeat. I know this can sometimes still happen that early.
Then they referred me to the Early Pregnancy Unit and I had another transvaginal scan on Monday. This scan measured 6 weeks 5 days but still no heartbeat was seen.
By my LMP I should be at least 8 weeks now, but because I ovulate late I’m so confused about what to think. They’ve asked me to come back again in a week but I’m honestly terrified and finding the waiting really hard.
Has anyone had any positive stories after something similar? I’ve had no bleeding at all, just occasional twinges around my ovaries/pelvis that everyone says can be stretching.
